History of Yeowza Resorts

Had a hectic week at work? Need to get away from all the hustle of the city? How about a romantic weekend, just the two of you? Come to a place where you can forget that the rest of the world exists. Escape to Yeowza Resorts.

Founded in 2002 by lifetime area resident Jim Wallick, Yeowza Resorts has plenty to offer its guests. Beginning in the main log cabin lodge, Yeowza Resorts features three beautifully appointed guest rooms-the Romance, the Victorian, and the Casablanca. These rooms feature a two-person Jacuzzi tub, mood lighting, as well as standard amenities such as satellite television and wireless internet service. The dining area is also located in our main lodge and hosts a deluxe continental breakfast each weekday morning and a hot country breakfast on weekends. You can also order specially prepared candlelight dinners and have them served to you in the dining area as well.

Possum Hollow Lake, a 2-acre spring-fed beauty, is a hub of activity. Guests can enjoy catch-and-release fishing, they even provide the fishing poles! The lake is stocked with bluegill, bass, and other types of fish. You can also get into a canoe or paddleboat and take a spin. At night, take a romantic stroll around, as the soft lights around the lake guide you. That's not all! You can also hike the maintained trails and spot glacier bedrock and Civil War era rock formations! Winding down at the end of your day, return to the resort for a relaxing massage by professional therapists in The Golden Pheasant Spa-individual and couples massages are available.

In 2003, the Hot Tub Hideaway Hut was opened with relaxation in mind. Tucked away in its log cabin walls are four standard guest rooms, each offering a chance to make a special memory. The Hideaway Hut is only 25 feet from the shore of Possum Hollow Lake, and there is a door in each room that opens on to a shared porch overlooking the lake. It's the most beautiful way to take in nature at its finest hour. Watch the deer feed, the fish jump in the lake, and birds fluttering about. Perhaps the most enjoyed feature of all are the 55-jet hydrotherapy full size hot tubs. Yeowza wants their guests to relax and rejuvenate during their visit. In the Hideaway Hut, there are 2 rooms with their own hot tub, seating up to 6 people in each. There is also a themed 'Wild West' outdoor Jacuzzi tub with artwork by local artist Jim Basiletti. All of Yeowza's hot tubs are reserved for guests to use at their leisure, and privately.

The third addition to the Resort was completed in 2005. It features a Lakefront Banquet center and 3 Executive Suites. The Banquet Center can hold up to 300 guests for any occasion. Catering is also available. Currently, Yeowza is hosting Murder Mystery Weekends with the dinner and show, and numerous wedding receptions in the Banquet Center. At the end of a long deck, lakeside, you'll find the Executive Suites. Your choice of 1 or 2 bedrooms (one king, one queen), each suite also features a gas fireplace, a comfortable living room and dining area, and a full kitchen stocked with dinnerware.

Yeowza Resorts is a beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding. Every detail and service is provided by the resort. Packages are available, and potential brides are encouraged to come for a tour and free consultation.

What does YEOWZA mean you ask? According to Webster's New Millennium Dictionary, it's "an exclamation of delight and approval." Yeowza Resorts wants all their guests saying "Yeowza!" by the time they leave for home. By the way, there's always something happening at Yeowza Resorts. Call anytime and speak to a friendly staff member about reservations. Or just come by and see us, we're happy to have you! Yeowza Resorts...not just a room...but an experience!
